Beginners & Intermediate Pottery Class March 13 to May 1, 2018

Cost: $315 at registration plus $35 for clay, firings and glazing paid to the teacher at the first class by cheque, cash or etransfer.
Location: Gladstone Clayworks Pottery Co-op, 949B Gladstone Ave, Ottawa
Learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel; wedging, centring, opening and pulling (raising) the walls of cylinders and bowls. Also learn trimming, various surface decorating techniques and glazing. While emphasis will be on the wheel there will also be some hand building. The focus of the course will be on building technical skills and exploring the design options of different ways of working with clay.
Classes are adjusted to your learning needs. Beginners learn basic throwing and hand-building techniques while intermediates, can focus on improving the techniques learned in a beginner class and learn new techniques.
This is a bilingual class.
This class is limited to 7 students to provide as much individual attention as possible, so please register ASAP as these classes fill up quickly.
