Hintonburg & Wellington Village

When Parker arrived at the tennis court they found it busy with humans getting their last bit of playing in before the courts would close. The acorns that had fallen on the court had all been swept aside.

Parker knew what had to be done and soon found themselves leaping and diving across the courts as the tennis balls bounced by.

WHOOSH. KATHOK! WHOOSH. KATHOK! WHOOSH. KATHOK!

Parker was across the court, on the post, over the net, dodging a ball, avoiding a racket and then on the edge of the court, Parker filled their mouth with acorns. Parker looked back over their shoulder with big chubby cheeks watching the balls bounce across the courts.

WHOOSH. KATHOK! WHOOSH. KATHOK! WHOOSH. KATHOK!

Parker stretched their back, flexed their legs muscles and took a deep breath. Then away from the edge of the court Parker went with their mouth full of acorns, avoiding a racket, dodging a ball, over the net, on the post, across the court, and then Parker emptied their mouth of acorns.

BLA-BUH-DA, BLA-BUH-DA, BLA-BUH-DA!

After several trips back and forth, Parker had enough acorns to fill a small purse which they nimbly held in their mouth by the strap. That’s when Parker heard the lunch bell ring at a nearby school. Kids’ lunches always had some excellent stuff. Parker also knew though, that acorns could get boring with the same old taste day after day. Perhaps some herbs and spices might be the next thing to pick up before winter arrives.
