Architects DCA Inc. (DCA) is an Ottawa-based architectural practice with roots dating back more than 30 years.

We develop and promote architectural excellence in the buildings we design, and successfully foster positive customer relationships. This balance allows us to continually deliver projects on time, within budget and while meeting the complex needs of today’s built environment.
The firm’s project experience includes commercial, retail, office, industrial and institutional work in a variety of settings. We’ve successfully designed everything from leading edge, high-tech, research and development facilities to multi-unit residential projects. We thrive on complexity and challenge.
We understand applicable building codes and approval processes for the various jurisdictions in which we work. This includes federal, provincial and municipal approvals. We actively engage in the planning and approval stage of projects to help ensure that our client’s goals and our goals of architectural excellent are met.
The firm has a currently certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Through this system, we emphasize on Leadership, Planning and Support that helps us deliver excellence to our clients.
We are an active member of both local business organizations and provincial and federal architectural associations including the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada. The firm believes in active involvement to “give back” through volunteering, mentorship and support for allied arts and professionals.
Toon Dreessen, President of Architects DCA is frequently published in local and national media on the role of architecture in society and culture. As a Past President of the Ontario Association of Architects, he uses his history of professional service to advocate for improved procurement processes as ways to leverage better value for the public, create lasting quality built environments for people and leave a legacy of sustainable places for future generations.
