Dog Movie Night

Back for an eighth year, the Global Pet Foods Hintonburg: Dog Movie Night in Parkdale Park, presented with The Hintonburg Community Association, Ottawa Markets, Capital Pop-Up Cinema and Jeff Leiper.

For one night a year, the “No Dogs Allowed” policy in Parkdale Park is lifted and your furry friends are invited in for an evening of fun. The film this year will be “Best In Show,” which stars Canadian icons Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy and, aptly enough, revolves around a dog show!

Pre-Show Entertainment

First up, we have artist Ryan Smeeton laying down a new painting on our ArtWall in Parkdale Park. You’re probably familiar with Ryan’s work, as he did the humongous painting on the side of Iron North fitness. He’ll begin around 5pm, and work until dusk.

There will be a number of dog-centric vendors in the park, talking about nutrition and selling dog treats, clothing, toys, and other accessories.

Rocky Road Dog Rescue will be there selling their merchandise and will even have some dogs up for adoption. They will also have a bake sale and dog nail trimming, all as donations to help the dogs that they rescue.

Boots 4 Pups will be around with a PawpPup art studio doing a paw painting fundraiser

Events are set to start rolling at 6:00 p.m. and the movie will air at dusk. While admission to the event is completely free, attendees are encouraged to bring some extra cash if they’d like to purchase anything from the vendors.

You should also bring chairs, cosy blankets, your favourite movie snacks, and of course, plenty of poop bags!

It’s important to note dogs will need to remain on their leash while in the park.
