Animal and Human Sculptures – 6-Week Pottery Class
Get ready to take your pottery skills to the next level with our new ‘Sculpture of Animal and Human Figures’. Whether you’re interested in mastering the human form or creating whimsical animal sculptures, this course is your chance to explore the beautiful art of sculpture in clay.
This special 6-week full-day workshop will be held at our brand-new sister studio, Earthen Vessels, located at 36 Rosemount Ave, and will be taught by the talented, award-winning Ottawa sculptor Jordan Danger.
Experience Level (Ages 16+): Intermediate (Must have taken at least one hand-building course and be comfortable with basic techniques)
Course Breakdown: March 16th, 23rd, 30th & April 6th, 13th, 27th.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM:Â Human SculptureÂ
In the morning, immerse yourself in the world of human form sculpture. Jordan will guide you through hand-building techniques and help you study anatomy and proportion to create your very own human figure. By the end of this course, you’ll have completed one stunning piece of your own!
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM:Â Animal Sculpture
In the afternoon, you’ll switch gears and sculpt an animal of your choosing! Not only will you create a four-legged creature, but you’ll also make a functional pottery piece — a darling planter that’s perfect for gifting or keeping. Explore animal forms while choosing decorative finishes in the final week.
