TASTE Cooking demo: Paula Roy’s savoury bread pudding
Local recipe developer, food writer and TV personality Paula Roy presents a short cooking demo on Facebook showcasing how to take full advantage of local, seasonal produce. Watch as Paula shows how to make a savoury bread pudding packed with ingredients that are easy to find in Wellington West. Butternut squash, kale, rustic bread, local eggs, cream and cheese are blended together then baked. It’s a flexible, make-ahead meal that’s ideal for breakfast, brunch, lunch or even as a side dish to go with grilled meat or fish. It’s vegetarian and you can easily make it with gluten-free bread if you like. Paula used sourdough bread from Les Moulins LaFayette, eggs from Island Park Metro, vegetables from the Parkdale Market and cheese from the Herb and Spice Shop to prepare this delicious dish; she garnished it with crispy fried onions from GTExpress and a drizzle of top quality balsamic from Aurelius.
