Parker decided that having interesting flavours with herbs and spices would be a great way not to get bored during winter and headed to one of their favourite fresh food shops. Parker hopped right up on the counter and smiled at the cashier.

The cashier stood very still and blinked at Parker. Parker stood very still and blinked at the cashier. Finally the cashier said, “You’re late this year you little rascal. Go grab what you need and bring it to me.” Parker bounded around the shop. Each item Parker collected and brought to the cashier was put in a paper bag with a strong handle.

Parker collected five carrots. Into the bag they went. PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK.

Parker apprehended four avocados. Into the bag they went. PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK.

Parker picked three packages of peanuts. Into the bag they went. PLUNK, PLUNK, PLUNK.

Parker mustered 2 mega-sized mushrooms. Into the bag they went. PLUNK, PLUNK.

Parker brandished one bushel of broccoli. Into the bag it went. PLUNK.

“Have a good winter!” said the cashier.

Parker pulled the paper bag with the strong handle out to the sidewalk. SHK. SHK. SHK.

Parker paused to catch their breath and had a thought. With all that they had gathered, both of Parker’s front paws were full and their mouth carried more. Parker realized they may have collected more than they needed and would have to figure out what to do with the extra. Parker thought there wasn’t any better way to eat food than with friends, but Parker also remembered that there were other animals that might need the food more than they did.
