The Return of ArtsPark Reminds Us What Community is All About

Artists and art appreciators of all ages came together to celebrate the power of creativity for the first time in two years at Parkdale Park’s staple multidisciplinary event and showcase

Reuniting after two long years of isolation and cancellations, The Hintonburg Community Association, along with the Friends of Parkdale Market, Ottawa Markets and the Wellington West BIA, lit up Parkdale Park upon the anticipated return of ArtsPark with great success Saturday, June 18th, 2022.

This past weekend, community associations, local businesses and makers, artists and residents gathered to celebrate the arts in all forms–from spoken word and live music on the Tooth and Nail Mainstage, to children’s workshops, dance performances and an improvisational art battle–which felt apt and inspiring after finding comfort in creativity within the confines of our own homes throughout the pandemic.

ArtsPark momentum was sustained all day long, as crowds of all ages shared moments of joy, reflection and admiration.

We’d like to extend an enormous thank you to our generous sponsors, Tooth and Nail Brewing Company, Giant Tiger, Kitchissipi Ward Councillor Jeff Leiper, Full Cycle Bike Shop, Mann Lawyers, World of Maps, Stella Luna Gelato Cafe, Merge Design Print and Promotion, The Hintonburg Public House, Maker House Co., Wabi Sabi and Prana Shanti Yoga Centre for your support in making this homecoming one for the books!

Plus, with donations collected at our canteen we were able to raise $536 for the organizers of ArtsPark at The Hintoburg Community Association!
