Tiptoe Through the Trees
This park was the best park for finding acorns! Every year squirrels would swarm here and gather more than they’d ever need. Surely there would be some acorns left.
Parker scampered around the base of the nearest tree. No acorns.
Parker scrambled up that tree. No acorns.
Parker scooted along the branch to the next tree. No acorns.
Parker scampered around one tree and then the next. Left and right. Left and right.
Parker scrambled up one tree and down the next. Up and down. Up and down.
Parker scooted along the branches. Tip. Toe. Tip. Toe. Tip. Toe.
Grass patch after grass patch, tree after tree, branch after branch. No acorns.
A group of children walked past dressed very strangely and carrying bags. Parker crept along behind them until they stopped at a house and knocked on the door. When the people opened the door the kids yelled, “Stinky Feet!” The people then tossed food and candy into the kids bags.
“That looks promising,” thought Parker. Then again, Parker realized all they’d been doing was hopping from one idea to the next with no real plan and still had nothing to show for it. Maybe stopping to think up a real plan was the best idea.
