#WelliWander with Richard Cooper

Local songwriter, media impresario, and bona fide Southern Rock music legend, Richard Cooper of Ottawa band the Cooper Brothers, has called this area home for thirty years – and he tells us “I don’t want to live any other place!” So when we asked him to walk us through his ideal #WelliWander, he started with stops at the west end of Wellington Village and moved East through Hintonburg. Here are just a few of the favourite places he chose:

A stone’s throw apart. The Wellington Diner and Caffé Mio.

One casual, one a little more upscale. Both places friendly, inviting, and the food is fabulous. In summer, the sun always shines on their patios. The owners, Jeff and Rob are both characters.

Further east, there’s Petit Bill’s.

I’ve known these guys forever and they are pros. They are generous, community-minded and they understand food and drink. Their fish and chips and simply the best.

Further east we have Fabgear 64’s ROCKSHOP

If you’re a rock star or simply want to look like one, Uncle Bob will set you up. Tell him I sent you. Ask for the COOPER BROTHERS’ discount. 🙂

Lastly, we have Maker House near the LCBO.

Love this place. Whenever Colin Cripps from Blue Rodeo is in town, I have to bring him here to buy stuff.
