#WelliWander with Ian Fraser
Run Ottawa’s Executive Director, Ian Fraser, has an active history with Wellington Street West. Former founder/co-owner of Cyclelogik, Hintonburg’s preeminent bike shop powered by caffeine—also the title sponsor of the Hintonburg 5K—Ian is also a member of the Wellington West BIA board alumni. Ian is an avid music lover, so his first stop on his #WelliWander is no surprise:
The Record Centre
I never gave up my vinyl collection even after CDs ruled all the way through the ’90s. I’m an avid audiophile and love what John and his crew have done to make the Record Centre my go-to spot for records and equipment. So unique and so awesome!
Marché Hintonburg Market
Nothing better than a small, local grocery store. They cover pretty much all of our needs and have amazing cheeses!
Global Pet Foods
My best girl Winnie has come to work with me for years, ever since she was about 16 weeks old. It’s so great to have a neighbourhood pet store where you can grab food or treats when you need them. The service at Global is first-rate. There is always an enthusiastic “hello” when you walk in. Treat yourself and your bestie animal friend to a visit!
Elmdale Oyster House & Tavern
This place combines 2 of my very favourite things: Taverns and amazing Whalesbone food. When Pete and the team took over the old Elmdale Tavern they left just the right amount of grit and character from old to new. Nothing like beers and oysters at 5 pm on a Saturday!
West Park Bowling
This establishment has been around since 1946 and is everything you think a bowling alley should be. Even the Dude and Donny (The Big Lebowski) would approve!
