Brought to you by the Friends of Parkdale Market, with artist funding from our partners at Ottawa Markets, our August 3 WelliWednesday features young performers like our Showcase of Local Young Vocalists at 7:00pm. First, we’ll hear from teenaged singer-songwriter Allie Goodyear of Wellington Village.

Allie Goodyear

15 year old singer-songwriter sensation from Wellington Village.

Allie Goodyear is a 15 year old singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Ontario. She has performed her original songs at local events in Ottawa, as part of the Ottawa Fringe Festival and Marvest Folk Festival. Notably, she is the composer and songwriter of the theme song for a local ice cream shop, The Merry Dairy.

She is influenced by artists such as Alec Benjamin, Taylor Swift, and Joni Mitchell. Allie is grateful to have had the chance to work with artists like Just Jamaal the Poet and Zack Werner over the past few years.

She started learning to play the piano at age four and since then, has branched out with guitar, ukulele, flute and bass. Allie has been songwriting since age 10 and writes far beyond her years.

This year, Allie has put the time and energy into writing songs and working on her creative process. Her debut single “Breathe” was successfully released in July 2021 and her second single, “Mirror,” in May 2022! She has many more exciting projects coming in 2022!

Youth Vocalist Showcase

The next generation of rising stars.

At 7:00pm, the next generation of rising stars take the stage to showcase their blossoming talent! You may recognize many of these singers from previous years of ArtsPark and Hintonburg’s School Of Rock. Now fresh from work with Sarah McClurg, who teaches “students ages 6-18 learn how to sing and become working musicians”, our guests will dazzle you with the same numbers they perform in competitions, musicals, live concerts and events including Bluesfest and La Voix Junior.
