The weekly, free, hyper-local concert series spotlights Jazz From Everywhere and The Sarah McClurg Music School on June 22nd at Parkdale Park!
Brought to you by the Friends of Parkdale Market, the Wellington West Improvement Area and Wellington West businesses, the June 22nd lineup of WelliWednesday features a range of talents (and ages!) taking Parkdale Park’s Pat MacLeod Community Stage from 5:00pm-9:00pm next week.

7:00pm – Jazz From Everywhere
Our group plays well-known songs from the standard repertoire, composed by such greats as George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, and Cole Porter. We also play some enticing and beautiful songs from Cuba, Haïti, Brazil and France. Our two singers are Michèle Castonguay—who has performed in clubs and jam sessions here for many years, and is acknowledged as one of the most creative interpreters of the jazz repertoire in this area—and Samantha Christ François—recently arrived to Ottawa from Haïti— who sings in five languages! Rounding out the group are Neil Sealy on bass, Ron Ferguson on trumpet, André Ferraton on drums and Karl Nerenberg on piano. Karl is the convenor of the group, and has lived in the Wellington West area since 1989.

Sarah McClurg Music is an Ottawa based music school where students from age 6-18 learn to sing and ultimately become working musicians. You can see our students in competitions, musicals, shows and events including Bluesfest and La Voix Junior.
