Youth Vocalist Showcase
The next generation of rising stars.
From 5:00pm-6:00pm, the next generation of rising stars take the stage to showcase their blossoming talent! You may recognize many of these singers from previous years of ArtsPark and Hintonburg’s School Of Rock. Now fresh from work with Sarah McClurg, who teaches “students ages 6-18 learn how to sing and become working musicians”, our guests will dazzle you with the same numbers they perform in competitions, musicals, live concerts and events including Bluesfest and La Voix Junior.
Jazz guitarist and teacher
Justin Duhaime is a passionate guitarist, composer and teacher with a deep commitment to music. He has sold out concerts at various venues and festivals throughout Ottawa. His creative practice wether as a supporting musician, band leader, improviser, or teacher desegregates the boundaries between styles making his performance accessible to all listeners.
As a freelance guitarist Duhaime has performed in a wide array of musical styles. Most recently, he has emerged as a leading figure in the jazz manouche scene in Ottawa with his band. Duhaime, who is fluent in French and English and has been teaching guitar since 2005, has a self-published instructional guitar book, published over 300 videos on YouTube, and composed over 40 original pieces.
