| A TASTE of what’s to come this weekend! On September 17, Wellington West BIA and Oto-Wa Taiko presented: WOW9: Big Bang on Wellington St. West with Oto-Wa Taiko. The Japanese drumming ensemble captivated passer-by with their spectacular meld of oto (sound) and wa (harmony). About Oto-Wa Taiko
Oto-Wa Taiko brings the dynamic sights and sounds of Japanese drumming (Taiko) to public and private events and schools in Ottawa. The group’s name consists of two Japanese characters oto (sound) and wa (harmony). The character wa symbolizes the harmony of spirit among the players and with their Taiko as they make joyous sounds together. The group also conducts workshops for anyone interested in experiencing Taiko first-hand and runs classes for potential new performers.
